The Home Fires - Sarah Morris and Vicky Emerson

Hi There ~

I just wanted to give one last shout out for our "Paths of Heart Presents..." House Concert on Thursday, October 4th with "The Home Fires" ~ an Americana duo based in Minneapolis comprised of critically acclaimed singer/songwriters, Sarah Morris and Vicky Emerson. Sarah and Vicky are established touring artists and after developing a close friendship and playing live shows together, they unearthed a gorgeous new sound featuring Sarah's clear, melodic voice and Vicky's warm, weathered harmony. They are working towards releasing a debut effort for their duo in the spring of 2019. We'll start this evening at 6 pm with a potluck, followed by the concert at 7 pm. Sarah and Vicky will do one long set, so we won't keep you out too late on a "work/school" night! Suggested donation is $20 at the door, though it is always your decision what to donate. RSVPs are appreciated! 970-484-9600 or info@pathsofheart.org.

This weekend and upcoming house concert!

Sisters Oregon

Wowza!

I just checked the date on my last newsletter and it was in June! I hope you all had a great summer - I sure did, with lots of traveling, visiting friends and family, and of course, plenty of music! I've just returned from Sisters, OR (where the above picture was taken) where I attended the Sisters Folk Festival. It's become an annual event for me now, and who knows, maybe one year I'll perform there! In any case, I'm content to take in all the fabulous music that happens and spend time with my sister and her friends who convene there each year. I heard and met several acts that I hope to bring to Colorado to be a part of our house concert series, "Paths of Heart Presents..." in the near future. I'll keep you posted!

I've been away (in NJ, VA, and OR) for 2 1/2 weeks (got home last night!) and am super excited to be back in the local music scene where I'll perform with Mark Sloniker this Saturday night at the Sunset Lounge in the Elizabeth Hotel (details below).

The other date I want to bring to your attention is our house concert on Thursday, October 4th with "The Home Fires" ~ an Americana duo based in Minneapolis comprised of critically acclaimed singer/songwriters, Sarah Morris and Vicky Emerson. Sarah and Vicky are established touring artists and after developing a close friendship and playing live shows together, they unearthed a gorgeous new sound featuring Sarah's clear, melodic voice and Vicky's warm, weathered harmony. RSVPs are highly encouraged - 970-484-9600 or colleencrosson@gmail.com. Thanks!

Mark and I are also participating in several other upcoming events, including the 10th Annual Lifesaver's Breakfast for the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County and Night at the Museum: Moon Landings & Martinis at the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery.

House Concert with Olivia Awbrey!

June 28, 2018

Olivia Awbrey

Hello again!

After only sending out my newsletter every 2-3 months or so, I know I've been appearing in your inbox a lot lately. But that's because there's so much good stuff happening! Our John Kefalas house concert/fundraiser was amazing and so well attended - we thank you all so much for your support. Now we've got another concert coming right up (this Saturday!) that I hope you'll consider attending as well. Our House Concert Series, "Paths of Heart Presents..." is pleased to host Portland, OR "folk and psych-rock" artist Olivia Awbrey on June 30th at 7 pm. Sure hope you can make it - we love introducing you to young, up and coming artists as well as seasoned veterans in our house concert series and they all love playing to an enthusiastic crowd!

Tonight I've booked a last minute, 7-9 pm appearance with Mark Sloniker at the Elizabeth Hotel (Sunset Lounge, 5th floor), and Friday I'm once again at Miramont South (poolside!). You don't need to be a member to attend - just check in at the front desk and then be so kind as to buy a drink or food from the bar/cafe. Thanks!

On the horizon, The Crosson-Sloniker Trio (with Emma Sloniker) has a Noontime Notes show in Oak Street Plaza on July 24th.

"Paths of Heart Presents..." House Concert
117 Evans Dr. Fort Collins, CO

While intermittently recording her sophomore release, due out early 2019, Olivia is on tour in the US this spring and summer, and England this September. Listen to Olivia's music at: https://oliviaawbrey.bandcamp.com We'll have an intermission with potluck finger foods and beverages. If you can't make it this week, I'm on for next Friday, the 29th, too.

Hello friends and fans!

I wanted to send out one last reminder about our house concert coming up this Friday! "Paths of Heart Presents..." Indie Folk artist Laura Oden from Anchorage, Alaska, Friday May 4th, at 8 pm. She's touring in support of her 2nd CD release, "Peel Back Another Layer", which has been climbing the National Folk Charts with songs that ruminate on family loyalties, love, the meaning of life and whether or not the TSA actually makes travel any safer, all steeped in an ambiance of introspection. She'll perform one long set and we'll gather afterwards for potluck appetizers and drinks, so bring something to share if you can. Donations will be gratefully accepted at the door (all proceeds to the artist, $10 suggested). I will do a few songs to open the set. Laura and I sure hope you can make it to this one! Address is 117 Evans Dr., Fort Collins, CO, 80524. You can learn more about Laura and listen to her music at www.lauraoden.com RSVPs are appreciated: colleencrosson@gmail.com or 970-484-9600. House Concert with Laura Oden!

April 25, 2018

Laura Oden

Hello friends and fans!

Another 2 months has passed since I last sent out a newsletter - mainly because there hasn't been much "new news" - I've continued my regular rounds of singing with Mark (once every week or two) at the new Sunset Lounge in the Elizabeth Hotel, and also at Ace Gillett's Lounge in The Armstrong Hotel (with Mark and Emma Sloniker) most Sunday nights. My main reason for writing today is to tell you about our "Paths of Heart Presents..." House Concert that's just around the corner! My songwriter friend, Laura Oden from Anchorage, Alaska is headlining the show on Friday May 4th, at 8 pm. You'll love her witty, fun "Indie Folk" style! You can learn more about Laura and listen to her music at www.lauraoden.com

I'm busy booking summer solo gigs and have a few exciting prospects in the works which I hope to announce soon! So far, we have confirmed another house concert with Portland, OR "folk and psych-rock" artist Olivia Awbrey for June 30th, and a Noontime Notes show in Oak Street Plaza (with Mark and Emma Sloniker) on July 24th.

This also seems to be the year for treating ourselves to numerous epic shows! We just saw the fabulous production of Hamilton, and next up will be James Taylor and Bonnie Raitt (together!), followed by Paul Simon!! Is this heaven??

Our Sunday gathering, Paths of Heart continues to grow and keeps us blissfully busy on Sundays and throughout the week. We have started a community "Singing Circle" once a month or so on Tuesday nights - the next one is May 1st, at 7 pm. All are welcome! It's just a fun, informal gathering to sing positive songs of love, friendship and peace. Let's raise the vibration of this world together!

My detailed schedule of events is below.

Thanks for your support of live, local music!

Colleen Crosson and Mark Sloniker

Hello friends and fans!

It's been awhile since I last sent out a newsletter! I've mostly been singing with Mark (once every week or two) at the new Sunset Lounge in the Elizabeth Hotel, and also at Ace Gillett's Lounge in The Armstrong Hotel (with Mark and Emma Sloniker) most Sunday nights. I'll join Mark at the Sunset Lounge again tomorrow night, February 2nd, from 7-11 pm with bassist, Max Williams and drummer, Chris Dale. For those of you who had a hard time even getting into the place around the holidays, I think it has "normalized" somewhat and I bet you'll be able to find a seat with little or no waiting!

Paths of Heart continues to grow and keep us blissfully busy on Sundays and throughout the week. We are planning on starting a "Singing Circle" once a month or so on Tuesday nights, so I'll keep you posted on that as details emerge.

I'm participating in what promises to be an engaging Peace Cafe' Event on Sunday, February 25th that I encourage you to attend!

Detailed schedule is below.

Thanks for your support of live, local music!
Peace and Kindness,
